Aupa Hendaia Good place to surf when everything on the cost is soaked.Works well at dusk because of a nice on shore breeze, This makes a quick and tubular wave at any size in summer time.Lots of spanish guys and locals.

Shelterd Since this is the spot to go to when everything closes out its not really a summer spot. in summer the waves are generaly small and there are lots of swimmers who are in a special swimmerszone where the biggest waves break. so you might wanna consider other spots if the swell is small.

Hendaye is a saviour Hey guys, just to say Hendaye is a saviour, went there recently cause everything in Biaritz and Hossegor where just maxing out and really onshore and stormy. I dunno if the wind changed or what but this place was going real nice. I think it was at low tide, there was an offshore reef which we surfed which quite good. Loads of beggineers (perfect for them) but theres room for everyone as its a big beach. The standard of local surfing with the locals around here is really good, one guy pulled a massive 360 air just of the left hand side. There is also a really good but cheap sea food restraunt, on the left of the beach too. Cheers Alex

Henday eNov 2003 beginners/intermediate Flew to Biarritz from London for weekend. Our surf instructor (Pol - very good) took us to this beach with a longboard each. For beginners like us (going on intermediate) was a good wave: enough power, but not too much power, plus regular waves, so made it relatively easy to practice technique. Learnt a lot.Would come again.

hendaye surfed hear last sunday, quite crowded especially at high tide when the beach gets smaller but as the page says probably cos the rest of the coast was thumping. solid 4-5ft surf though and a really nice town & beach... Locals seemed friendly enough unlike some other places.

Gora Hendaia? This spot is not working very often, and Hendaye can be considered more a "family" beach...However, it is a good place to learn how to surf or to go when waves are too big in Bidart or Anglet. There are no many sufshops there, just one place to rent a board...so bring all you need. I always had a hard time finding wax in that place...even if I live there!
