replying - if you didn't know, lanzarote & fuerteventura are the lowest island here, so wind blows normally from 5 to 15 km/h and N-NW direction in spring and summer, which is not what you're looking for. the best days for you will be those that there won't be wind. good luck guy ;)

Thanks mate for the info! - Thanks a lot for reassuring me. I'm glad i can find some swell in warm water and sunshine in April! I understand the swell is less consistent but it would not be a problem as the most important thing to me is to paddle out and surf every day. My only concern is the wind direction. Is the wind direction mostly east or north in April? I surfed Bubbles, Hierro, etc. in December and i know that stretch of coastline express its best with SE winds. What do you think man? Is april an off-shore month too? Thanks again and take care, Walter

For you Walter - Walter, spring in Canary Island it's fantastic! But the sea is not too strong in this season, the big waves visit us from october-november until february-march. However I recommend you to come to Canary Island, 'cause being here you'll have waves for sure, is they aren't in the south coast they'll be in the north side. Personally the best wave I've surfed in Fuerteventura is Cotillo, in the North-West of the Island: it's a really nice sand-bar breaking. The swell direction in Canary Island is N-NW for 315 days a year, so it is almost sure that you'll can surf in FV in April ;) good trip & good waves ;)

SURF in late April in Fuerte - Hola tios, estoy buscando una destinacion para ponerme al ague al fine de abril y pensava de venir a fuerteventura si las olas estan buenas. no tengo ni puta idea si hay buenas marejadas en abril / mayo pero solo tengo 10 dias y no me siento de irme a mexico o otros lugares mas lejos. por favor, digadme si fuerte merece una visita en abril!! muchas gracias!

Me and my friend are going to Las Palmas, 2 or 3 weeks in december - january and wondered if the weather, season and so on is good down there at that time? Well.. Me and my friend havent surf before so it would be great if somebody told us about their sight about this.. And if you can recommend us about something it also would be cool.

Plz reccomend spots! - Hi i am going either to grand canaria fuerte ventura or lanzarote, ive been in fuerte twice and stayed in magic life@ coralejo but now im going with friend and they'd like a nicer hotel, i just wanna surf. I'd like a place with sand beaches, waves for beginners (around 3-5 ft) and a hotel real close by it so its in walking distance( dont want to rent a car). tnx a lot, fuerte lanza or gran dont matter to me as long as there a a real nice hotel( at least 4 stars) close to it. Tnx a lot for the help, any help is greatly apprecited.

La Enramada - Threatened wave! - La Enramada (SW coast of Tenerife) is under threat of destruction due to construction of yet another artificial beach for tourists on this already overdeveloped coastline. We need to stop this from happening, as it will not only destroy an amazing place to surf, but also set a dangerous example for other spots in this area which are under threat from development!
