Playa El Socorro - fantastic atmosphere, friendly people but not much wave (Augoust): sandy bottom and powerful wave.
Ask to the locals when it works.

Bajamar - North Tenerife - Great place. Gets North Atlantic swell. Lot bigger than the south of the island. No crowds when I was there. Just 2 spaniards. Nice and freindly, and I. waves were about head high and clean. Bit of a walk in to the spot. Might just have been me taking the wrong way. Bloody god wave though. The water is a lot cooler in the north compared to the south. It is also a lot cooler in the North. The south is arid semi desert the North is lush and green. Great conterast. Also we did not meet many tourists. So its a bit of the real Tenerife. Take care on the road though. It winds and twists and the Canarian drivers arn't all that well known for there slow driving speeds

Surfing The Spaish Left. Right Out Front of Playa De Las Americas - This is a really cool wave. It breaks close in over a lava reef (i collected some nice cuts here) and rolls left into the large concave bay.

I've got mixed feelings about the spot. The wave is great but some of the locals are none to friendly. One guy repeatedly dropped in wave after wave. He was a good surfer and could really carve it up. But he had absoloutly no manners. He Took a dislike to my mate Jess and each time she would be padling back out he would try and run her down. she had to bail on 2 waves when she was first on. It really spoilt it for us. Dosent help that my mother lives on the island now and its free accomadation for us now.

Ah well, its all part of the experiance
