Go to the town of Luquillo off of Highway 3. About a 45 min to hour drive east from San Juan. Upon reaching the traffic light for the town of Luquillo and turning, immediately the road into the town comes to a T intersection take it right. Continue into the town to the main Plaza, stay on the road and at the end corner of the Plaza, the road in front of you will turn into a one way (Do Not Enter-- Sign), but you can turn either left or right, (((((turning right takes you along the edge of the Plaza, this leads directly to La Selva Surf Shop about a block up the street))))) Turning left takes you to the beach, this small stretch of beach in front of the wall/railing is La Pared, Enjoy!

Additional Information
Park right on the beach. You are literally in a beach barrio but the locals seem friendly. There are some nice condos but in between are some crappy houses. Go to La Selva surf shop to rent boards if you need but don't expect quality(they have Morey, Surf-Tech, and a Bic for $20 each a day).

Atmosphere
On a weekday- there is no one here. You will have some surfers and bodyboarders show up around 5PM after work but they are usually friendly. If you are bringing fairly attractive girls with you and they are staying on the beach-keep an eye on them- they guys are very aggressive and I had to stare a few guys off.

General
Great place to teach people how to surf. A nice 3-5 foot wave with different size breaks within sets. The water is warm, sandy, and clean. After about an hour my friends were able to surf- it is that easy here. If you want a good break go to the point on the left, you will see a log stuck in the reef. Paddle out and wait, you will have a nice left break that is longer than La Pared and makes a nice small barrel once in a while. It is not the best spot in PR- but it is the best for beginners or for those who want to have some fun.
