Great day at Los Tubos
I live in California and had a meeeting at Hyatt Dorado. Rented a board at Kalichee surf shop. Had 2-5' Los Tubos with only 2 others out. Tons of fun...rights and lefts. Watch your steps going out and coming in....plan on a few abrasions from the rocks. This place must really be good on a bigger swell.

The ride
This is one of my favor spots “los tubos” breaks left and right and also “la boca”, no need to go other places. What for? I’m either going the get rob or get in a fight. To all of you, this place is hot. Just don’t live anything in the car and have it always in site at any beach in PR. (I hate it but it’s the thru).

Los tubos trap.
This is a messgae to all the gringos and even locls who want to surf Los Tubos. DON'T LEAVE ANYTHING IN YOUR CAR!!
This spot is known for car break-in's. It does not matter who you are. Better yet, have someone drop you off there and pick you up later.

Los Tubos was a fun wave when I surfed there -- it is a nice peak that wedges up. Caught it a few feet overhead and had fun, but it isn't what I expected from the name. From my session, seems like the R is pretty fat, while the L is much better with a thicker drop -- especially if you backdoored it. The L doesn't have a channel so if you go left, likely you'd take a bunch of waves on the head before you get back out. Not many guys there, pretty fun time.

Direction Update
Take 22 west from San Juan. Exit at 686 north. Take 686 north to fork in the road, make a right and go about 3 miles down. Park outside the gate at the opening. Just like most of Puerto Rico it's best before 12pm.
