lone surfer - I will be in Puerto Rico end of Dec. to first week in Jan (partly, for a business trip). I am planning on surfing Dec. 31 - Jan 3, but I don't really want to surf by myself. I was wondering what my options are. I've never been to Puerto Rico and I am a little weary of surfing in unknown territory (especially when I don't speak spanish and I hear the locals are territorial). I've been surfing for 5 yrs, but I still consider myself somewhat of a beginner. I do, however, consider myself as a strong swimmer. My ideal surf spot would be glassy, clean, 4'-6' waves (with nice locals - ha)! Any suggestions?

any surfing on Vieques? - We'll be on Vieques (island east of P.R.) middle of February. Does anybody know if there are any good beaches for a beginner surfer? Do they have boards for rent anywhere on the island? Thanks for your input!

To FLSURFER - The winter is our surfing season. All those cold fronts that pass over Florida gets here with big swells and no cold weather.........To surf you gonna have to go to Rincon or Aguadilla, about one hour or two from Yauco, all kind of breaks.

Hows The surf be there nov 5 - ill be going to pr nov. 5 to stay for a month and i was wouldering what the best spots to surf around yauco where?
and the best spots in the island this time of year?
prefer a sand break.
