Surfed it in 99, was already crowded, can t imagine what it can be now. If crowds are not an issue for you you ll enjoy SC. Stay at Rolo´s, he was among the first locals to surf the point and he s a really nice guy.

Santa catalina is a dream...waves all days...I´ve staayed there for 15 days and the smaller day was 4 to 6 ft...amazing...supercrowded..Stay at rolo´s he is super friendly...more with Latinos...

Dont stay at punta brava, the reports are correct. we talked to locals about it, and the owner of that place is super sketchy--like he hired thugs to tear down somebody's surf camp that had legal ownership and had been there way longer than he had, plus he's paid off the local police. (before we knew about it, we checked the price and it's more expensive any way than most).

place to stay
just got back from catalina. had OK waves. stayed in a great place called su casa mia or something. its next to surfer's paradise and is like a tree house. Get in touch with Juventino, hes the caretaker there and will hook you up. it helps if you speak some spanish. here's his number: 9593852
