Can anyone a shop to rent gear? - I'm bringing my girlfriend along to teach her to surf. Anyone recommend a beach that good for beginners and a sshop to rent from? Thanks!

Palmar - I used to live in Panama for 21 years, I've surfed most if not all of Panama from Catalina to Bocas del Toro... Most people hate traveling to a different country to surf and find "little" to no surf so I leave this message for the experienced surfers... Just so you guys know that are going to Panama Palmar is pretty much a fun break when it's small to medium. The point of Palmar is pretty good only when the swell is real big. But it tends to close out so if you're coming from Australia or somewhere SUPER far away... DOn't bother. As a beginner this is a good beach to learn on, it's a sandy break so it's not dangerous. Having said that, Panama's roads have become way better so this has made access to the beaches real easy! SOOO if you go, go during the week, going on a weekend on a good swell will definitly screw your over since every single koook out in Panama will be there! Just hopes this helps ok, if you want more info about any of the beaches drop me a line.

el palmar mansa playa - el palmar is a good spot the locals are nice people and is a good place 4 people that are learning, tambien para personas q saben, but a lot of people go in the weekends

Palmar sucks,Coconuts sucks - I was here for two weeks and no swell in prime season. Don't go to coconuts because they will rip you off. Fuck Red,Squid,Jackie and Selena.

that fucking surf camp sucks - those guys at the surf camp are thiefs, they robe me the last month 400USD, i called the local police and they didnt do nothing, this place should be closed ....don t even think about going there, stay in other hotels near this place...

Coconut Surf Camp - Don't miss the Coconut Surf Camp in El Palmar-nice food (forget those fried chicken street stalls), nice people (Red-Jackie-Da Squid) and tons of informations about surf spots and incoming swell all over Panama
