Easy now! - Beldoll, you've gotta be careful travellin on your own around Mexico (anywhere in fact, but esp Mexico!), so if you can hook up with a few folk, then try and do that. Im headin out to Mexico for the first time this June. Def gonna head across and get some surfing done on the Pacific coast. Never surfed before, so looking for some advice. Is it worthwhile getting lessons, or better to jus hire a board and go for it? I did that with snowboarding and picked it up pretty quickly, but everythin is different!

also traveling mex in aug - Beldoll, I am also traveling mexico this summer during July, and August from La Paz all the way to Oaxaca the whole pacific coast. woundering some of the same things where to camp, surf, eat etc. Let me know of any info you find out and if you want some good surfing traveling partners. email me at

Nexpa in August - does anyone know how big the swell is at nexpa in August and if it is unpleasant in the rainy season? I am a female travelling alone - been there in April but dont wan to to surf it 6 feet plus every day...

- looking at making a trip to Mexico at the end of the year or some time in jan/feb. whats the surf usually like at this time? Also what are good areas to go to if you don't have a car, because i dont think ill have the cash to buy? or is a car essiantial for surfing in Mexico?

Camping In Mexico!? - Hello to all fellow surfers! I'm planning a surf trip of the entire pacific coast of mainland mexico in summer and does anyone know if it is relatively safe to camp out on beaches in mex? What places should I need to worry more about safety? From what I know, Ticla and Boca de Apiza should not be good places to do so! Could someone please inform me of what places I need to watch out for? Many thanks!

california to central america - aussie heading to california and wanting to drive to as far into central america or south america if possible,is it easy to buy a cheap car in the states and can u get around central america easily

Mexico - Andie--About 5 hours from Mexico City to coast, a bit more to surfing areas. Mexico City isn't easy to live in, but many love it.
Leisuremeister--You can drive south from California into Baja California. Never travel alone, never travel at night. Yes, there are places to camp by beaches--best to stay in designated campgrounds.
Southern Baja has much surfing.
Mainland has much surfing--and can be accessed by ferry from La Paz to Mazatlan.

I live in Malaysia, so can get to Bali, but want to live nearer to surf again. I have just seen a great job advertised in Mexico City and my mate raved about the great time he had living there. I only want to apply if I can surf! Can anyone tell me how long it takes from Mexico City to decent surf?

from california to Mexico - Hey guys,
Im a german surfer who want to do a roadtrip from california to Mexico. First I want to check out some spots in california and then spend most of my time in Mexico. Im thinkin about to buy a car in US and travell around! Can anybody give some tips or advices?! Is it possible to sleep in the car next to the beach?
