Kind of a secret spot so it's gunna be pretty faint! (if your friends with some locals in Sayulita they'll tell you where it is) Drive past the Saint Regis until you see a place on the road where 2 to 3 cars are parked in a place where it looks lie they shouldn't be pared. cross the road and hie on the trail for about a mile through the jungle.

Best Spot of the Surf Cruise. Was a couple of foot overhead early in the morning. Sets were coming up every 15-18 minutes. In between sets there a few 3-5 footers that were still very fun.

this spot
I surfed this spot for about 3 days in august '05. I would get up pretty early and walk down from this small motel we stayed at in Punta de Mita. Fun little right about chest-shoulder high on a south that was double overhead in michoacan. Edit: was fun till the boats would show up with beginners staying in PV. I still caught my waves, got a very nice pic one day, decided to leave and go farther south, the peak couldnt handle 30 people on longboards, very frustrating.

Las Palmas Hotel (La Lancha)
Just got back from Punta Mita,it rained most of the time so the surf wasnt that great this time. But I met a nice couple, Dave and Irene, they own Las Palmas Hotel.
Really nice place thats reasonable my room with ocean view was 45.00 a night with A/C, Direct TV, full kitchen, free Vonage Phone to the US!
Dave has a boat and a truck so he can drive you to any spot. Hell pick you up and, for half the cost of a taxi!
His e-mail is las_paalmas72@hotmail.com drop you off at the airport

Don't need a boat
You don't need a panga to get to La Launcha.. you can walk from Punta Mita on the beach (30 minutes)... might have to paddle around some small rocks. Or drive from Punta Mita... there is a bridge on the highway with a sign that says "La Launcha". That's where you park. Was there this morning.. very small with 25 people in the water.
