La Puntita Access
Down towards Mazatlan. 1 hour north of Mazatlan off 15. White gate on the right side of road K68. You can see the point from the road 1 mile before the gate. The locals will let you in. Free camping, sick wave. Don’t let the Sinaloa Surf Camp scare you off. Call the federal police if they try anything. They will arrest them. Be careful of Danny Setum, the owner of the surf camp. He is a local ***hole, not even a local. He is from Cali and thinks he is a local, he will try to scare you off.

Additional Surfing Infos
Park your car on the point. Sinaloa surf camp will try to scare you off. Call the federal police if anything happens. The camp will be shut down. Danny Setum runs the camp and is trying to localize this place, but he is from Cali.
  Overview
Atmosphere Sick left, gotta surf it. I camped there before, no one around except the surf camp boat crew that lies to its customers saying it is only accessible by boat. BS look off the road at this beautiful point off the side of 15, 1 hour north of Mazatlan.
General Tell your friends to soul surf and explore, get surf maps, don’t support exploitive camps.

Patole Surf
Im a pinche gringo (from norhtern Cal), moved down 8 months ago. I currently live about 1 mile away from the spot.

Patole is my favorite place to surf, long rides. the locals are cool, they will let you in to surf, but if you don't look like a surfer or dont have a board on your person, they will ask questions since there is currently a land dispute at that spot. From what ive heard the locals are trying to keep it out of the hands of Resort developers from Mazatlan.

I've heard of the "Surf camp" near Patole, and there is another surf camp in the area Celestino, (which has another kick ass break) and both surf camps have the "stay off our camp and we'll stay off yours" Mentality so I've been told. Although I haven't encountered anyone from either surf camp telling me I couldn't surf a spot in either area (ide love to see them try).

Beach Access
Mexican law didctates that there are NO private beaches in Mexico. They are open to the public. Following that, even land owners need to grant access to the beach, through their land, if necessary. The camps can still run, but they cannot deny access.

I wonder how Danny Setum and his butt buddy supporters liked it when the locals held a surf contest at Patole in July. http://www.palmsurf.com.mx/evento/torneo_de_surfing_patole-15

I met Danny at his camp one time. Que pendejo. Setum and company did not discover this break; its been around for a long time. Its just Danny and his SSA that are exploiting it with lazy fat old guys who have more money than sense. Those are the guys that wanna keep it to themselves.
