Barra - Sorry everyone- I got this place 1 year before the ripcurl pro or whoever it was exposed it. Me and two mates stayed for 2 weeks. Surfed everyday, as long as Kirra, as perfect as the best spots in indo. Most times just the three of us- max 10 guys out. Not a brag- just saying it pays to get out and go places before the world tour picks em up. Peace

waste of time - just back from mexico...
this wave is the best wave in oaxaca.
but its so pack that you can wait for one wave like 20-30 minutes.
do the consideration if its worth it, i dont think so....

this wave rocks - this place rules dont believe what you read, nexpa is a muddy mush burger and ticla is over run by canadians and guadalajara wannabes. this is the best wave in mexico hands down. a must for the traveler who want to catch sick waves. early not crowded at all

My Advice - Do not go to Barra unless you don{t mind surfing with like 30 other mindless surfers in the lineup, and trust me no one is willing to share . Yes it is a very fun wave, probably the best in this region. Personally, I would rather surf the many other spots to the south which are also very good with no one ese in the water. Sorry dudes..not willing to give up the names of these spots. Anyway, good luck to all who come to Oaxaca to surf, after all, it has a very beautiful coastline with excellent surf potential.

ozzie, the new brazi - Funny someone complaining about the americans. When I was there there were so many ozzies it was ridiculous. Atleast 3 six packs arrived at a time. They show up with an 12 to 18 pack of crew and wanna call shots. Kiwis did the same. Stupid. Thanks Mick. Loud and arrogant, worse than brazis. Take it back to superwank.
