nice place We had great waves there. Seemed to be lots of gringos staying at one of the cabanas. Was super cool swimming with the Nyabinbi Mexi kids in the lagoon. (Apparently, shipwrecked slaves that settled there and crossbred with the natives) Current was strong. During wet season the aligators (cayman, crocs, whatever) float out into the lineup.

gringos beware Only come here if you are with some native speaking mexicans otherwise the locals will take you for a ride. The wave gets decent but like below you cant compete with the locals when theyre out which is all the time because none of them have real jobs. Paulito is sketchy, he was talking shit about us unbeknown we could understand the general gist. Or maybe he didnt care? Cool place, bulk weed but again only come with locals or a machete and dont take anything of value. If you are coming with just yourself and gringo mates think about staying somewhere else. Other than that it is still a truely magical place which feels more like tradicional mexico than anywhere else.

pants An average wave at best, crowded and the chances of getting a wave when the locals are out are about zero. Donīt waste your time making the journey to sit on a beach for two weeks like I did and surf sub-standard waves when Barra or Roca Blanca are so close.

Chacahua safety Man dont take anything to Chacahua that you value. There are no police out there, just 400 locals with nothing who are totally isolated from Mexico. They even control when you leave and arrive.....there is 1 small boat, family owned. We took a hut on the beach and all our gear was stolen when we surfed and then NO-ONE would help us out !!! They were all in on the scams...this happened to many surfers there. The wave is mushy and sections in 9 out of 10 swells and the current from the lagoon is horrendous !!! The locals from Puerto even don't go there. Barra is WAY better

"paulito" ask Paulito how he got the scar on his chest. It was by a hawaiian sling (fish spear) from me when he attacked me and my wife with a machete He hates gringos beware when he's drunk

nice and relaxed There are no sharks at all, the living costs are cheap. 70 Pesos in a Cabaņa and Meals around 30-70 Pesos. The tour to the mangroves is very nice (ask for Paulito). There are two little stores in town and one slow Internescafe. There are no bancs so take enough money with you. Don't miss to visit the lighthouse! The view from there is amazing. To surf walk out along the stones and jump out there - then your ar on the spot! A really nice spot!Have fun!

isolated and perfect You have just ome place like it in Mexico. It's quite hard to go there. From Puerto : 2 bus, one boat, one taxi. keep cool this beach it s very nice. Few scorpions !!! But this wave could be perfect during big swell. The firt section is very powerfull and after it's could be good but no often. If it's very big , careful with the courant. good ride, the best place to see after 6 month in Mexico.
