est time is oct/nov for the bay of banders to go off, lots of secret local hot spots - find a good local, you can find every variety of wave and reef, yes theres coral reef only access by boat or you. Map: thanks to Nautica Adventures surf safari and Coral Reef surf shop
I arrived to Sayulita with a 4.5-5 ft 20 sec swell... waves were fun, not as good as I expected, but definetely a good place to surf and have fun. One tip, go early in the morning, there is much fewer people

Punta Mita Hotels
My family and I stayed at the Hotel Las Olas in Punta Mita and would highly recommend it to anyone. Owners Dave and Lisa treat you as guests of their home and will offer to help you with anything you need. Dave surfs and he will direct you to all of the local surf spots. Thanks Dave and Lisa. Hope to see you again soon!

Lookin for some advice
Headin to PV for 2 weeks at the end of Dec/early Jan and looking for some mellow uncrowded spots with good waves for myself (I suck) and my buddy (rips). Prefer to be as far from obnoxious tourists as possible. Pretty seasoned travelers can handle some adventure and "flexible" accomodations. Looking at renting a car or happy to hop on a bus for a few hours south or north. Any advice is much appreciated..
Thx
Trent
