Additional Surfing Infos
The wave is a left that shapes in front of a jetty that looks like a sand boulder, that's the reason for it´s name "Costalitos" (wich means boulder in spanish). It`s only good like 3 times a year, at most 5, but that changes every season. But when it's on, you can get a smoth and fast barrel ride!!
  Overview
Atmosphere The atmosphere is great at this spot. The surf comunity of Veracruz is not to big, but almost everybody know's each other. It doesen´t break to often, but when it´s pumping, don´t be surprised if you find a crowd in the water. Respect the locals and they will respect you, plus they might show you other good spots around the area.
General The wave is almost world class when it's breaking. The only problem is that it breaks very rare (Big cold fronts or Hurricanes). Despite of that, the wave is great, has a good barrel section at the take off, and a big wall to rip the entire ride.

"almost world class"?
This place is located directly in front of one of the biggest storm sewers on the Gulf of Mexico. What drains into the lineup there is all the trash, pollution, chemicals, etc......from Ejercito Mexicano and Las Americas. It breaks more than 5 times a year. But it is a very short ride, about 20 meters maximum. It is not anywhere near "almost world class" and it hardly ever can get above a true meter or so without it closing out. It is one of the shortest rides in the Gulf.If it is breaking, why bother with it, because every other place in Veracruz area from Camaronera to north of Laguna Verde will be nice!It is an opton during a north wind (norte) because Punto Mocambo from the Camino Real hotel to behind the old TorreMar (different name now) shields it a little bit.It should be renamed "El Collector Pluvial Miguel Aleman Junior" because that is exactly where it is.Get a Hep shot before you get in the lineup.
