Photographer named Natalie Hi, We were just at Costa Azul for a week, had a great time; am wondering if anyone may have access to the photographer (Natalie) who shoots from the beach in front of the Cabo Surf Hotel's emil address? She took some awesome photos of my husband and I?

February surf? Please?!? So I'm off to some all-inclusive deal in San Jose del Cabo the last week of February, not my first choice, but it's a family thing. Clearly there's not much surf on the east side of Baja in Jan/Feb, and I won't have any wheels. Not looking for much though...just a girl learning to surf, some small friendly waves will do where I won't get in the way of locals. Maybe a friendly little bar with a cheap beer for after and good company to share it with. Any thoughts on the Costa Azul or how best (cheapest) to get elsewhere there may be a bit of a wave would be awesome...thanx and good waves!

old man's, nightlife in SJ Del Cabo? Planning a trip there in June. So if you stay at Cabo Surf hotel in San Jose Del Cabo, are you pretty much cut off from the party scene in San Lucas? Also, how often does Old Man's get chest-high+ ?? Small surf and no crazy drunk chicks...I won't do it. Anyone have answers?

Cabo Surf Hotel Cabo surf hotel rocks! We stayed for 4 nights a couple of weeks ago. We came in the low season so managed to get it a bit cheaper. The rooms are amazing with the best views! I´m a shortboarder from england but spent most of my time on the longboards that you can hire for US$20 a day. All of the staff were really friendly an d helpful particularly miguel the guy who hires out the boards. They hire shortboards too so you can surf the rock and zippers and you can switch boards during the day. As for acapulitos being a surf break for old men? It is a really mellow break, but who cares? its fun and there is a really good atmosphere in the water and friendly locals. Plus the rock is only a two minute paddle from the line up. I´m definitely going back to cabo surf hotel!

old mans local Back in the end of Oct./early Nov.,I lucked out w/ 8 straight days of shoulder to overhead surf @ Old Man's.The crowd varied from 20+ to just myself...My last day was the only time any bad vibes appeared-a "local" guy (from the states)who was a caretaker of a house next to the break. His name was Walt,I believe, and this guy was an a******.He talked(bitched)down to a guy (from San Diego)and myself about how he would catch twice as many waves than us on a shortboard compared to the longboards we were riding, not to mention our poor wave selection,etc...He was a total jerk and a complete buzzkill.I had a blast at this break, despite him and the crowds, and got along fine with the REAL locals.I'm used to fairly small crowds in N.H.,and have never acted like or seen his attitude in my local breaks-even as they get more and more crowded with unfamiliar faces...Avoid this PRICK and have fun.

Cabo Surf Hotel Three of my buddies stayed there last year and said it was great. Nice people and a good place to hang out. You'd better double-check on air conditioning though b/c I forget if it has it and that's mandatory for Cabo areas from May - October. Unless of course you're coming from somewhere further south in latitude... Oh yeah - one buddy saw a HUGE spider hangin' on the toilet paper roll one morning after his 'constitutional' - you know, reach over, pull the paper and from the backside of the roll emerges a gigantic tarantula-size bug - and he really flipped out. But I would think that an isolated occurrence... Again, I've heard it's a fun place to hang and it's got GREAT location to both local breaks and the Cape.

Old Man's, aka Acapulquito Although allegedly named Old Man's for the mushiness of the wave, this spot is incredibly fun and when it gets big it is rippable. I tool out a 9'0 Gordon Smith and had the time of my life. There were perfect 6-8' swells on perfect pelling rights. It was easy to carve and have a great long ride. It was some of the most fun surfing I've ever encountered.

respect? Locals at Zippers and La Roca are kooks. Being hassled has nothing to do with not showing them respect. They just want to flex their latino machismo because they can't handle the gringos who surf better than them and live nice lives in the states. You can be as nice and respectful to them as you want you'll still get snaked and hassled. AND if you do get into a brawl don't expect it to be one on one. These brave "warriors" like to hedge the odds in their favor.
