I surfed here in October of 03. Yes be very careful of the boulders, spent my last two days trying too pick out urchin spines from my foot. Fun wave not for beginners at all.

monuments. if you want a real nut check. check this place out!!! not for the faint at heart. Every aspect of this ride is total committment. getting out, riding, getting in. ride or die.

sketchy i never got to surf this place cus i checked it out at the wrong tide, but my friend went out when it was double overhead and said it way sketchy, he got a sea urchin in his foot, and when i looked at it there was dead fish and birds all over the beach from hitting the rocks, really creepy/

Not as great as it looks This wave looks awesome but the bottom has lots of huge boulders underneath that make the wave pretty unpredictable. Last time I was there it was headhigh to slightly overhead. I duckdove a wave and my nose went straight into a rock. This was with a six foot wave breaking over me. The take off is really wierd. You have to be over a boil basically to get into one.

Hairy Spot Spot has many hazards especially at lower tides, watch out for reef caverns, urchins, rocks, and powerful waves. You line up on two boils and catch the waves there, keep in mind the boils are coral/rock heads coming up within a foot to a few inches to the surface. Surfed there this summer with a cool local. OH yeah the water was ICE cold, wish i had a full suit, it was very unusual for the summertime.

Monuments. Just got back from a cabo trip. I hit up Lover's, Monuments and Zippers. Monuments had to be the most sketchy. This was the first time that I have surfed a rock bottom. Not sure what tide it was, but when the wave sucked up, the boulders were less than a foot from the surface. Made the mistake of standing on one after I had finished a wave and ended up with urchin spines in my heel. If you drive a car there it is a short walk down to the beach. If you take a bus, they drop you off at the top of a hill and it is a long walk down to the break. This isnt the best break along this stretch of coast but a buddy and I surfed it for two hours and had it all to ourselves.

I surfed this spot with some local. This is a fun left.. I surfed it over head, low tide. High tide probably is no problem. Low tide just makes you think a bit and push it.. I will for sure come back some day.
