Scaring Beasts From Afar... - I like the Scaring Beasts version better than "all saints"
By anonymous , 25-01-2004
Scaring beasts fron afar?????/ - Actually the meaning of Todos Santos is All Saints. That island was discovered in november 1st, the day of the celebration of all saints in México.

Tow Fags!! - I am tired of all the tow-in fags gettin towed in on 10-15' days. You are all a bunch of pussys, and 99% of you can't even surf. Now after January 1st. your gone and the rest of us have to pay more for the boat. We all lose!

FYI - I'd just like to point out that Baja California (in fact, ALL of México) is in North America, not Central...happy surfing!

My Experience - I've been to Todos twice at 15'-20' and at 25'+. First timers: sit on the shoulder and watch the guys drop into backdoor, pre-boil pits. Then work your way over with each wave. From the shoulder you can even catch swinger sets that are world class. If you get caught inside on a massive clean up set (not if, but when), get ready for the pounding of your life. Just stay calm and ride it out. It feels like there are 30 guys pulling on you from every direction. Hopefully you will pop up on the inside and get into the channel before the next set. My friends usually sit the deepest and farthest inside just to getting their beatings over first. Take at least two boards from 7'0" to 8'6" for 15'-20' days.

todos santos - The name of Todas Santos comes from the local Sheep herders who were caught there after America's conquest in the Mexican American War over the Mexican tortilla makers who lost their union jobs at the local grocery store to the American Cowboys who were not Union workers; and then became soldiers to fight back for their jobs. These soldiers fled their tortilla mills just short of the border and made a giant raft, sailed down the Rio Grande, into the ocean until they hit the island. They then found an indigenous cactus which they made Tequila with, mixed with Peyote Buttons. This liquid made all of the outcast tortilla makers hallucinate from the Peyote buttons and the giant waves seem to them just like Alien gun ships from the outer plantary concellation name "Todas"...... this surf break now translated into "Todos Santos"....meaning "Scaring beasts from afar".
