Wow Locals only Why you dont put this rule "locals only" in a wave that really deserve it!For example "Destroyer" or "El Manianero" when those are big. . .oh i know, because you are local in the spot when is small and everybody is in the water. . maybe you looks like mad but for sure you should be like all other Dom surfer that talk so much shit and are adding feets to the waves and talking about the new moves and airs,i would like to see you in heavy surf,. . cool keep working!!

Now for locals only Coco Pipe is now a locals only break, if you don't live here, don't surf here.

America, America I can totally relate to some of the negative comments about americans. living here in the US, its frusterating. I vote, I sign petitions, I even go to politcal ralleys. it doesnt matter. The Carlyse Group runs this place. When war profiteers have their sons in the white house, its hard to really do anything as johnny regular voter. I just make my money and leave to surf....I leave some small treasures in foreign lands, and well, its not great, but........I'm Hoping to get a job overseas....does the DR need an english speaking science teacher?! great waves by the way, looks like fun on a decent swell with ligh winds

United DR Locals The times of free waves & good vibes are over in the DR, localism is now in full effect!!!, visitors who dont respect the rules (drop ins & trying to get a wave over a local) will be imediately expeled from the water, if you try and talk shit and act like you own the place we will beat you down, 100% guaranteed. A piece of advice: RESPECT THE LOCALS AT ALL SPOTS IN THE DR!!!

swell necessary stayed in cabarete and surfed coco pipe/ encuentro daily for a week in early january. Never got better than shoulder and the waves were blown out by noon everyday. On a solid swell it could line up great and be fun, but otherwise its kind of mushy. The DR is chill and the locals are great people. Cabarete is a small active beach town with a good drinking atmosphere.

Just got back from north DR, Cab, nice place, very good waves and cheap food, no problems with locals. Coco pipe and the left point at encuentro are the least crowded around that area everyone seems to stick to the main peaks in the middle of the beach, watch out for the urchins tho! the are loads of waves to be had if you just go off and look! take a walk down the beach to the left of Encuentro you will see what i mean!! hope this has helped.

Great Waves, great place Having lived in Cabarete for 2 years now, I can safely say that of all the board sports that I do,(kitesurfing, wakeboarding, skateboarding and surfing) surfers clearly have the worst attitude. They think they own the place, and Cabarete is no exception. So expect some Dominican twat from Santo Domingo to drop in on you and tell you how great he is But know that 5 min after he is on the beach he is sucking some gringos ass so that he can buy himself a beer that night.
