locals will crowbar open your car
...even if you can use a clothes hangar to open the door in less time. surf at own risk.

standing on the rock during a really big swell is a lot of fun

He's right about the hooker thing!
Paddled out on the 22nd. I paddled out about 50 meters to the right of the break....basically to the right of the 'crazy rock' and used the rip to pull me back into the line-up. They were breaking about 15 yards to right and out off the end of rock at high tide this particular day. You are gonna wanna try to time the sets on bigger days for the paddle out, or else you will get caught inside and keep getting pulled closer to the big rocks. That day rights were not as clean as they had been, but still fun and fast - chest to head high. few hollow but a little offshore would have helped to cure that problem-like most days. There were only a few locals out in the line-up that day and were friendly. Catching waves was not a problem as we took turns. The wave from the horizon doesnt look so steep...but it jacks up as it gets closer to the line-up. I didnt find myself paddling to hard to catch them due to the steepness once it gets more shallow. Just be in the right place at the right time. You'll figure out where that is once you paddle out, or over the falls you go! Its a pretty powerful wave and can get a little scary knowing that at low tide you'd be surfing/raking your board along some rocks on the bottom. Better spot than Jaco beach break. The rip at least works in your favor for paddling and taking off, and waves break in the line-up more consistently. Oh yeah...and about the hookers.. well hang out at the Beatle Bar after 10P any night, an you'll know what were talking about. At least they are not as aggressive as the Del Rey crowd in San Jose! hasta. buena suerte!
