Additional Surfing Infos
Only doable if your staying at one of the eco resorts in the drake Bay area
  Overview
Atmosphere One year ago there was one surfer who owned property in the drake area. Only he and a couple others surf it regularly. It gets epic.Easily as good as anything else I surfed in costa. Thats comparing it to roca loca and 6-8 foot dominical point.Very good on the south swell and no ones around. Not many surfers stay in those camps!!!I was on a dolphin and whale expedtion for 4 days and got taken there.
General A great wave on the osa oenninsula, which is an adventure in itself just getting there!!!

It will barrel
I've surfed this break when the tide was high but going out. The waves weren't barreling much when I surfed it but they push hard and fast and get pretty steep just the form of the wave doesn't barrel when this place is surfable. Ricardo will rent you a board or sell you some necklaces he's a nice guy last time I was there in early 07 he was still renting them for under $10 I think. You can get held down here pretty easy still and get pushed way left on to some rocks if you're not careful. Tough spot to surf but fun.

not so good
I have surfed this spot as well. It doesn't get good very often and there are several rocks sticking out of the water during medium and low tide exactly where the wave breaks. very dangerous. if you get hurt here, you need a helicopter to see a doctor

Real info
I live about an hour or so walk from rio CLARO. Get the name right. If you surf this break dont forget to say hi to a guy named clavito that lives on the beach in a plastic hut. This wave is generally pretty good although it barrels very rarely, its more of a wall, long lefts. If you are looking for some barrels keep walking further down the coast its about a 15-30 min walk. The beach is called Rincon. This wave gets super steep and powerful most days barrels are hard to make. If you walk even further down to the opposite side of the beach you will get to a small reef break that can be truely epic when the middle of the beach starts to get too big. One more break you can go to only accesible by boat is inside the Corcovado park on a beach called Llorona. Be careful because this beach is shark breeding grounds. Pick up your trash or i will have the locals kill you!!
