Surfing Playitas - I've had some awesome sessions at this break, and the locals have all been great. When it gets big, it gets really big, and you can surf it at any tide. But when it is small you have to wait to mid-going to high tide to get any surf. Don't be deceived by how the rest of Manuel Antonio is breaking. If Manuel is small, then there is something is breaking at playitas, but if manuel is big, then Playitas can be huge. I've also been wrecked on the rocks a few times, if you check the break at mid-low tide you can see exactly where they are, 'cause they're sticking dry out of the water.
Fun Spot - Stoped here on my last trip and I enjoyed this spot to surf. I would say that it is not easy to find and at high tide anyone can surf it...
- Kelly Slater is #1 on Earth right now.... he's from Florida
pura vida - MA is beautiful. The wave is not epic but it is fun. I have had some epic sessions here because of the surroundings and the chill line-up. There are a few sketchy rocks though. At low tide I was surfing and i hit the lip and when I came down I hit the nose of my board on almost dry reef/rock. This caused me to fly head first into the water. I dinged my board bad but i was just glad it was my board that got smashed by the rock and not me. MA is a great place to take the girl or the family. If you go surf playitas and go to el avion. There are also some breaks in the park.
My Bad - Friendly surfer is right. This wave is for everyone. Must've really spazzed with my mouse clicking. Thanks for the correction.Ed
Playa Playitas - In all, this is a really fun wave. Locals are chill, no one's ever there if you don't go Dec-March. Fun road to drive down to get to it, ideal.

error - Sorry Ed but anyone can surf this beach break this is not an "Experienced surfers" kind of wave...
good spot - i just visited here not to long ago, the atmosphere is ideal, and the locals are very friendly.....can get crowded, mid tide and high tide are best....this place is capable of some pretty knarly waves if the conditions are right.....overall it is pretty good spot.....access it either by walking from the far side of the beach, or going down a bumpy backroad shortcut to get there
Wave quality - How are the waves in january? Are there any heavy breaks close by?
