pretty fun I thought
I surfed this place a few summers ago, it was pretty small like max shoulder/head high but it was super fun and rippable. You had to really pump down the line and not do any cutbacks really to keep up with it. I was by myself surfing without a leash for about 2 hours and had a really good time. This wave has a lot of potential if it gets any bigger than head high. didn't even realize about the crocs which is scary because I had to swim into the river for my board about 3 times. Only reason I didn't wear a leash is because I knew I needed a lot of speed to make it down the line. I would defintely check this place again if the swell was really big. Also the ship I was in Quepos on (TS Golden Bear from Cal Maritime) was anchored a ways out and there was a pretty big slab that looked good for tow ins way out off the point. I wanted to go surf it but 1) They wouldn let me paddle out right from the ship and from shore it was way too far, and 2) I only had my 6'3" and the waves were like 15 feet plus and very top to bottom. Don't know if the place has a name but it looked REALLY good...nobody surfed it the whole 3 days we were there

Quepos
Quepos is a grimey place. Its like a small version of Puntareas. Its dirty, and I didnt like the vibe much. The surf is pretty good, wouldnt call it regional classic, and for crocs....yup, they are there.

got it good
shoulder high peelers. Just me and two tico kids out. Pick your wave and ride for 100+ yards. Didn't see any crocs.
