Backwash - A fun right that breaks in the middle of Backwash Bay. Although it doesn't break as many days per year as Matapalo, it is the spot of choice when it is at its best (from midtide to lowtide).

This is a low tide break and if you get it on a 6+ foot swell in the morning your going to have a blast.

On the right day there is no better
This wave on the right tide, swell direction and size will match many warm water rights to be found. The take-off is over some boils. The take-off is mellow the wall builds and will throw just before the channel. The lava rocks to the East, jutting form the beach can goev some concern on a clean-up set of caught inside. Pan Dulce, further East is a fun long wave when Backwash gets MACK! Good place to stay...Bahia Esmeralda...good food, nice bungalows and quick walk to the surf.
