Rent or buy... - I would rent, there are some decent shops down there with good choices, so you can change your stick depending on the swell or non-swell.
Buying leaves you with trying to sell it at the end of your trip!
Now, if you are going down for a month than you would have the time to sell and barter.
buying or bring a board - hey i'm heading down in a couple of weeks and i can't decide to bring my board and pay the airlines and risk it getting busted or buying a used one when i get there? any ideas and how much would one cost down there. i think we are starting in tamarindo

Where's Witches Rock? - Hey, why isn't witches rock listed here anymore? It's freaking epic. Someone should post it again. It's not like it's a secret, in any event. But if you're travelling the Gunacaste, you're nuts if you pass up the boat trip to witches.
Guanacaste in April - Was wondering where the best places to stay are to be close to the waves? Is Playa Grande with in walking distance from Tamarindo? And is Tamarindo worth bothering with? How easy is Travelling around to stay at different spots with out a hire car? Any info would be great around the subject of where to stay and spots that I should not miss. Cheers for reading Paulo.
Liberia? - Heading into Liberia and need a cheap hotel for one night, any suggestions? Also headed to the Pacific from there, any ideas to avoid high hotel costs and crowds? not looking for those secret spots just somewhere chill to surf for a few days then move on.

No worrys - Hasseled in the lineup? Not a chance lone female. But the water quality in Tamarindo is ugly. Go to beaches north or south.
Lone Female - Thinking of headingg to Costa Rica in January, how is it for lone females am i likely to get hassle in and out the line up???Cheers
Conditions, Nov Dec? - I was planning on heading to Tamarindo November-December. How is the wave quality, usually, that time?
