Series of beach breaks that break over a sandbar; waves are short and tend to jack up creating a steep, fast entry with a slow, ride with lefts and rights. Best conditions in the early morning at mid - high tide.

Paddle out to the island.....The left reef break is usually better than the beach break.

The Best Days
I was in Cocles in 97, i stayed in Costa Rica about 1 month and my best days was in Pueto Viejo. Salsa in the first day was 6", but in Cocles i had my ever best wave surfed.I will send mu pic from there soon. GOD BLESS ALL.Tharso neves from Bola de Neve Church. >

Not Crowded?
I was there in April 06 and the swell just started. Salsa wasn't breaking yet it was only about 4 to 6 ft. And there were at least 40 people at Cocles. The main peak was packed. It was a fun wave and a good warm up for what came the next day. Salsa going off at 8ft. Faces were like 18ft. Anyway ........ Life is good........
