surf in AS
I have been offered a job in AS and I am wondering what the surf is really like. I learned to surf in the wind chop of texas only getting clean ground swell once or twice a year. I've read that the surf is for very advanced surfers only, and also that ther are several areas where a intermediate person would do ok. could someone let me know

surfing for beginner?
I got a job at the Coconuts in Samoa for 10 months. How is the surf there? I started surfing in Hawai'i, but im still bad... Are there any breaks for beginner? I've got a board, but im not sure if i take it with me (to expensive). Is there a possibility to get a cheap one on the island? I fist stay a couple days in Fiji and Tonga... what do you recommend, is it cheaper to buy it there? Mahalo nui loa Lynn

More info
Thanks - will be there for probably 2 weeks, will be by myself and using budget accomodation, don't mind roughing it. Don't know how I will get around but will look at a rental car for most of the days I'm there if the breaks take a bit of getting to and the costs arnt to high.

Need more info
How long are you going to stay? Are you going by yourself or with others? What level of accomodations? How do you plan to get around...bus, rental car, taxi? Be forewarned. Depending on how you travel and what you are looking for, it can be a bit more expensive than say Western Samoa or Fiji. But if you are lucky you may score some tasty waves all to yourself!
