Car Park Beach Access |

Very Easy to access: When you drive south from Oamaru towards Plamerston A lighthouse appears on a hill on the left hand side. A few kilometers further the street gets very close to the shore, about 50 m or less and there is a car Park, get off your car and in your wetty, itīs the ideal location for a short surf- stopover. |

| | The spot stretches from the lighthouse and Shag Beach on the Left for a few hundred meters to the right. Waves come in peaks and sets and their distance from the beach differs a lot, you have to be quick or lucky to be at the right point when it happens. But when it happens the waves are sizey and nicely shaped, quick and hollow. The water is very clear blue and cold, we saw a penguin out there!!!

As already said itīs a good spot for having a surf on your way north or south.Though the street is close, it is scenic. If you have a 3ī2ī wetty you wonīt stay longer than an hour out there, you better have a 4ī3ī. |
