 North Coast

New Zealand, New Zealand SI

South Island, North Coast - This region is a big loop from Westport to the Clarence river. It is fairly hilly, making driving between surfing areas slow. Nelson is the main city in the region and Picton is the usual first point of contact as the North-Island ferry arrives there. The Marlbourough Sounds are a famous sailing area, and Able Tasman National Park offers great walking (tramping), sea-kayaking and beaches.

Conditions in Marlborough - Hi, I'm just trying to find out if anyone knows the best conditions for surf at Robin Hood/Whites Bay. I generally go on southerly swell, with a northerly, but this doesn't always seem to work out. Could anyone give me tips for the area?
