Characteristics |
| |
South Island, North Coast - This region is a big loop from Westport to the Clarence river. It is fairly hilly, making driving between surfing areas slow. Nelson is the main city in the region and Picton is the usual first point of contact as the North-Island ferry arrives there. The Marlbourough Sounds are a famous sailing area, and Able Tasman National Park offers great walking (tramping), sea-kayaking and beaches. |
