One of New Zealand's premier spots. Now very well known, rather well worn and still well surfed by keen locals and a relentless stream of 'out of towners' It wasn't like that 30 something years ago. Nigel didn't find it - Walshy and I did!
General
Dropping into a big peak at Stent has been a defining moment in the education of every surfer who has paddled out.

Best Wave
This place is one of the best, only locals know it. Good it's too far from the Aucks.

Ah Stent...*drool*
Kia-ora, Tena Koe, Tena Korua, Tena koutou Katoa!Aye, the mighty Stent. Actually Im sitting here in Southern California, looking at this site. ( A mate was just over talking to me and I spoke of Stent, and got horribly home sick..thanks Geoff ya prat! )Ton Deken, man thats going back a bit eh? Yes, fond memories of it, especially when it went past 12' and the bay would close out...hahahaha.Surfing Stent with the boys from waitara and no-one else out. Eddie Korau taking of in front of me on a 12+ wave and as the bottom dropped out I scabbled over the top and all I heard was the *WHOMP*...as he landed in the pit.Ouch....Watching Motu Mataa on a beast and pulling up under a ledging montrosity...Kia Kaha bro!You fellas play nice down there and enjoy it. Dudes, theres so many people here in the water its just wrong. So be happy NZ still has only 4 million people! Oh, and yeah, I pinched the sign once..*grin*..many many moons ago! Haere ra!

Maori Message
No such thing as Tangata Te Whenua any more just half breeds who use the name maori as a social excuse to be misfits. Grow up and get your head out of the sand. Maori didn't surf before Eupoeans came and the seabed and foreshore are owned by all of us, not just misfit racists.
