This is a great A-frame peak which starts breaking on a bombora reef. The right is a nice bowl that breaks in towards the city. The left starts with a nice wall that peals in to the East End point (inside bogworks). In a big swell the left can connect from the bombora to the point.
Overview
Atmosphere
Nice wave and still not crowded even though it's right in the city.
Be careful out there
Experts only. Only breaks properly when its over 8 foot faces. Gets a whole lot bigger. Tricky and sometimes very dangerous entryexit on sharp rocks and boulders. About a 15 to 20 minute paddle at a minimum. Lots of current that pulls you into the pit a la Haleiwa. Be prepared to get caught inside. Heaps of power. Shallow on the inside section. Slammed on the bottom a coupla times Closest break to the center of town but a long way from help. Have seen Orca there twice when it was breaking. Recently on a big day I saw a craypot heading North in the lineup. Thought the current was really strong. Later that morning a mate started pulling the craypot up out the back at YZ's and found a six foot mako on the other end!
