Dazza
I've been surfing the west coast of Auckland hard for 2 years solid and I love it not because of the quality of wave but for the convienince of the wave i.e location. I've surfed for over 25 years and been to alot of breaks within the North Island only I think we are so lucky to live in a country were 30 people in the line up is classed as fuckin crowded and the distance to the other coast is just 30mins to a few hours and your in Heaven. Just go hard, drop in every now again, pull into whatever looks like a barrel, call someone a cunt, and when you get time head of to your secret uncrowded spot with a few mates and have a FU#!@N good time...later all.

EY beginners: To warn you: there is a big dirty Rip wrapping around the rocks on the right hand side of the beach, pullin you to somwhere between Piha and Whatipu, some rocks....dangerous! One local guy is even hanging out at the beach on big and stormy days to warn surfers to not paddle out there... Take care, not for those who donīt know how to! On a stormyday, go to North Piha!
