Maori bay Access
  Drive along the NW Motorway and head NW towards Helensville. Turn-off after Kumeu towards Muriwai beach. When you get to the beach turn left up te hill, it's the bay by the Ganet colony.

I believe this is the actual beach that the Maori decided to land on 1000 or so years ago. Legend has it, the canoe took off on a bombie next to the island and proceeded its way onto the inside section with a few hacks and cutbacks, got absolutely kegged while at the same time casting nets off the side fishing for the vile sea snake, we know this snake today simply as a booger.
