yeah not worth it.
i used to surf there all the time and it was ok. They fenced some dunes and its stolen all of the sand and now theres just big holes and no banks. Go to any of the auckland west coast beaches because they are way better. It does not work 150 days a year more like 5 if your lucky. Also car break ins and theft have been a big problem there recently

works good in about 2- 5 ft with offshores. cranks. especially in winter. but other than that it's shit house, wast of gas
