Worth it
Grew up surfing Waimarama. Great place to surf for all surfing levels. Beautiful huge sandy beach. Camping ground by the local shops. If you're in Hawkes Bay Waimarama, Ocean Beach, Te Awanga, Haumoana are the bread and butter spots. For the more experienced there are plenty of other gems if you want to go searching.

Beachies
Learnt to surf here... fun waves, learners spot... head out the back of Havelock North past Tomata Peak. Ask locals if you're lost it's a well known spot. Keenos try Cray Bay.
