Locals - Rongomaiwahine
The Locals are abit anti tourist, because of their natural "protectiveness" of the land and sea. This is how they are raised. They're there throughout the entire year, not just summer. People don't just "fit in" to Mahia. The community is tight. Everyone knows everyone. Learn its history, get to know the Mahia people and next time you're out surfing Blaxs/Last Chance/Stones etc you may not have to worry about who's leaning up against your car watching you surf.
