turn off the Napier-Gisborne highway at Nuhaka and drive 3 or 4 miles , where road first meets the beach you are there blacks reef you cant miss it lots of surfers and cars.....
a nice right with a short left. can have barrels when conditions are right, is one of new zealands most consistent waves with some localism from napier and gisborne surfers just one off mahias hot waves, check out mahias several other HOT WAVES

whoever posted this wave is a dumb fuck...an east swell wont get into blacks at all..and south-west wind is onshore as..It works best in a south-west swell..cool how the swell comes up the east coast of the islands and mahia sticks out enough to get it...a blessing for sure
