Far North Secrets - There are so many not so well known surf breaks from Scundge Pit ( Sandy bay )to further northst that you could spend a whole year surfing the northeast and still not find them all, i.e Opekeha, Elliots, Te Pahi world class waves just a few minutes from each other.....hilliarious...LOL

Driver's Paradise - Don't even think about going north without a car, and don't think that just because you have a car you can find all the spots. Local knowledge is essential. The locals in the north have made connections all around the north and call each other each morning with a swell and wind report. It takes nearly 2 hours to cross the northern pennisula, so you don't want to be wrong!!! Keep in mind that there are waves in the north everyday, it's just a matter of finding them and even the locals miss out sometimes.
