Aotearoa Attitude
Man...I'm a kiwi surfer who's been living (& surfing) in Hawaii for a year now, and after checking NZ spots on this website, I'm reminded how uptight it is down there. In Hawaii 95% of the time, the line-up is a fun, friendly place with a mixture of young & old, guys & girls, surfing their guts out with a smile on their faces. Guys like Mangawhai Hardcore wouldn't last 5 minutes up here with that attitude.... and by the way, there's folks up here surfing 15 ft pipeline on their "gay" longboards, "spongers" taking on Peahi (Jaws) on bodyboards.... You should come up here Mangawhai Hardcore, we'll all laugh as some 60 year old guy on a longboard surfs circles around you.

You are an uptight bunch
As a world traveller and surfer with a home break it is easy to see why the uninformed get so uptight about the touros getting waves. Here is a tip..... good surfers will always get waves, they just read it better. If you are a 'local' and are not getting waves when the 'Jaffas' arrive you only have yourself to blame. Stop the bleating on websites, get out there and learn how to surf.
