Hey matt
yeah bro i was wrong there, I agree that yep we can get swell from wind associated with highs, I remember a few years back there were easterly winds blowing all the way across from s.america no lows to speak of yet we got sick groundswell at wainui.Im still pretty sceptical about that Ne swell wrapping around to insides, 180 deg is a shitload of refraction, and let's be honest for it to be 2-3m it'd have to be HUGE. you never know tho... Everythin was bigger and tougher back in '66!Fuck this petty blog shit. might see you out there sometime.

To Tuamotu terrorist.
I just want to jump in and let you know about something terrorist.Heres what you said-"To old fart Robbie: You're obviously so old alzheimer's is affecting your memory...You say that on your magic day in '66/67 you surfed the island 2-3 m with northeast winds, yet the town beaches were flat!?? the bowl at the island breaks on a south swell and so do the town beaches, with 2-3 m at the bowl town would've been at least 1.5 m. Now you may have been surfing outside island which gets northeast swell, but it wouldve been cross-shore and anything but pumping. "NE swell can wrap in if the period is correct. If the swell was say 15-18 seconds than it would wrap inand would allow it to break well on the inside. You also said this- "To Cuffy: Lived in gizzy all my life bro and never seen an offshore 20 foot swell. Even if there was a 20foot swell it wouldve been closing out the harbour entrance making it inaccessable to boats. p.s. swell comes from lows and cyclones not fucken anticyclones!"Yes windswell comes from anticyclones or highs. Swell can be generated from highs if the fetch is big enough or if the high is blowing winds with enough power.
