35 minute drive north of Whangamata, over big hills and windy roads. Go through Tairua and over the hills again and look for signs. Drive down by campground carpark at the end of the road. Wulllar.
There is also a good beach break just allong the beach a bit. Give the locals some respect, its a secluded spot and they are not used to kooks crowding thier point break.
Overview
Atmosphere
At low tide you can dig holes on the beach only about a foot deep. and it fills up with hot water and you can kick back in a warm pool of water.
General
I love it, best place to surf in NZ when its going off. There is a camp ground there that fills up with fine girls who are chasing the surfers. Paradise

camping closed
The foreshore campground is now closed which is a real shame . The owners are building their dream house and I hardly blame them. This is a lovely little spot which I went to for the first time this easter. It was 1-2 ft but just beautiful clean fun with really nice people in the water . Thank-you for sharing your waves with me and if you are ever in Oz at my local I will show you the same courtesy

seasons
Hey- anyone know what the best season is for this area? I am heading to NZ for their winter (June and July are the months of my trip) and this place sounds killer. Any help would be graciously appreciated.
