To answer your question the attack took place at the "secret" reef spot not far from Bourail and Gouaro.

Shark Attack?
In March 2009 a young French surfer was tragically killed by a shark in New Caledonia. Anybody know which break it happened at?

New calédonia's spots are very dangerous! There is no water under your foot, and the "electrical" reef is very dangerous for your skin... I've seen some big sharks in many spots! And its a really expensive trip, because every where you want surf, you need a boat! Beautiful place but not for surfning, i think ! I prefer Australia most safer and cheap...

New Caledonia can be like the paradise for the surfer. You must dare with the beachcomber in the boat, because the passages of reef surround the island. As French, I appreciate that New Caledonia shares the language and the currency Frenchman, and particularly of the higher levels of social label. Even the natives here show appearance of the civilized behavior, with the difference of Hawaii, which is amok with the brutal savages! The French presence in the Pacific Ocean via its colonies was an advantage for the area. We have wrested the largest goods of the ground by giving to the indigenes the ethics of a work, inculcated benevolent governments to the despotic lords tribals, and impregnated their cultures with suitable ways. And the good beachcomber of our colonies is not exceeded, particularly in Tahiti, Fiji and New Caledonia. Hawaii, however, is the opposite. It does not astonish me that it is an American colony. The Americans cannot civilize people because the Americans themselves are most unciviized in the whole world! Hawaïens are not any different that animals, and one recommends to him to avoid these unimportant islands. You will not obtain any good beachcomber and most probably will be taken for victim by the local animals which appreciate water as their clean! Ardently wish New Caledonia remain protectorates French! Downwards with the American Diaspora and colonizes savages to them!

Bonjour ! J'ai pris des photos et des vidéos sur un spot (je ne connais pas le nom) près de l'îlot Condoyo et du cargo échoué, le samedi 21 mai. Si quelqu'un est interessé pour les voir, vous êtes peut-être dessus.
Hi ! I've taken photos and videos of surfing guys on a spot next to Boulouparis, small island Condoyo and the cargo the 21th of May... Perhaps somebody has been shooted and want to see him.
