Matavai Bay - December, 1788.
I am researching the history of Tahitian surfriding and have a surf report from December 1788 at Matavai Bay indicating the waves were closing out over the Dolphin Bank (outside of the point in approximately 10ft of water)and pushing through to the beach.I assume that this a relatively rare swell event, but any modern feedback was be greatly appreciated.

the lip is quiet fat and the wave is very strong I love this wave and I would give her 4 stars!!there's just a problem sometimes the waves aren't surfable!!and there isn't a lot of water on the reef!!you must be a kamikase to go on surfing it
