From Papeete, take the road of the North Coast, pass Arue, Orfara, Papenoo Beach.Turn off to the left just after the bridge. You can easily miss the little road. Continue to about 400 m and you reach a large parking.
It's with Paparaa the best beach break at Tahiti. The Sandbar is often excellent and produce tubes. It holds big swell. The water here is often cold. Don't surf here after big rains (sharks and infectious pollution). If no locals are surfing: stay out the water.

Fun surf
Paddled out with my buddy for some waves - a little mushy, but otherwise fun. Definite potential if the swell is head-high or bigger. Locals were very cool.

I think too it's the best beach break in tahiti, left and right, barrels, and I confirm that the best time is the morning, just when the sun rise, glassy, tubes, few guys in the water.......but crowd in the we in the afternoon, very crowd!!jeremy@atahiti.com
