Tahiti is the main island. Tahiti is like a dream-come-true. The people arefriendly and without any of the serious global undertones hanging over Tahiti, it's a beautiful, laid-back, and super tropical paradise destination.
The reef passes can throw some serious tubes and be prepared to cut yourself. The waves are also very fast and if you aren't used to reef breaks just hope that the waves don't get *too* big (seriously).
I almost went to Fiji instead of Tahiti and am glad I didn't based on some of the comments on wannasurf.com's bulletin board.
Papeete has become crowded and polluted but Tahiti is still one of the most beautiful island of the Pacific
Surf Board Rentals / Breaks
Aloha, I am going to Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora on my honeymoon in February. Just like everyone else, Im looking for advice on places that are reasonable to rent boards, and to find out where the good shore breaks are that are close to our hotels. We'll be staying at the Intercontiental Resort Tahiti, Intercontiental Resort Moorea, and the Le Meridien Bora Bora. Mahalo!

Need an Apartment for 3 Months
Hey all.
I'll be in Tahiti for 3 months starting in mid-September.
Does anyone know where to find an apartment? (ideally with internet access, as I need to work during the trip)
I'll be surfing, but I've only got 3 months experience (in Florianopolis, Brazil last winter), and am looking for beach breaks in order to keep learning (reef breaks can wait, lol)
Anyways, if you've got info, a connection in Tahiti, etc., let me know.
