Whats the scoop.... - Heading out to Moorea in late July. Love any info that could help. Biggest would be board rental/purchase. If I bring one... short or longer? 6'8" or more like 9'? Looking for mellower waves..4-8ft... Are the paddels to the reefs as long as they seem? Thanks all...any info is a plus...I will be sure to give updates and postings when I go....

Surfing Moorea - I will be in Moorea for part of my honeymoon in mid november. Looking for any helpful advice regarding surfing there...ie. breaks, board rentals, transport out to the reef break, cool places to hang

Tapu or Tapo - I am looking for a long time friend his name is tapu or tapo or whatever the spelling, all I know his from Moorea or maybe Tuamotuu, It has been along time seen we have never contact or seen each other,this is way back inthe Mid 80 ,His a local hero has been representing Tahiti in Surf on the previous occation or surf compertition, If he can remember that we meet in Fiji Lautoka 1986 he came on a yarcht with his friend some where in Europe. Iam from fiji. Please if someone can tell me,how can I contact him, It will be much appreciated.

Looking for accomodation & info... - Hi my name is Jack and I'm currently in Fiji. I will be leaving for Morea next month and would love to spend two months their surfing as much as possible. I come from Spain and I travel alone. Just wanted to know if anyone could help me with boat rides to the breaks and/or maybe a place to stay. I am willing to pay and we could reach an agreement. Let me know about accomodation etc... I am quiet and spend my time travelling and surfing.

Moorea for me. - I have taken three trips to French Polynesia and really enjoyed Moorea the best. Rather easy access to the surf via the Le Truck and healthy paddles. Accomodations were cheap. First time I camped, then I made friends with local Tahitians. Brought gifts and sold my boards for a fair price when I left. In turn I had some of the best surfing and friendships and saw some incredible surfing by some of the locals. The crescendo was seeing Perry Dane, a hot shot West Side boy get ragdolled on the reef at Temae. He was on the next flight back to Hawaii. Maybe Temae isn't the same as Third Dip?

Just returned from Moorea - Beautifull island. Lots of empty surf except that all surf spots require a boat or a long paddle out to
the reefs. Watch out for outgoing tide or you will be paddling the entire time. Also watch out for black
tip sharks around the reefs. No place to rent boards. Only one surf shop and they only sell clothing.
