Apri 2005 Moorea surf trip - I'm heading to Moorea in April '05, any local surfers that would be kind enough to show us the spots or have a boat would be welcomed. Also, what boards are recommended. Thanks, ED

no title - The papetoia left hander is bullshit. Fast, down the line barrel with heavy reef. Hard to catch the wind right.

Surfboard Rentals - I would appreciate any info on renting a board in Moorea. I am going at the end of March 2004. Also need to know how to get to the reef breaks. Do I need a boat or a waverunner and if so how do I get a ride without spending alot of money on a rental? Also where are the surf spots near the hotel Intercontinental Beachcomber Resort in Temae? Thanks, would appreciate any info.

board rental - Hey there... does anyone know if you can rent boards (6'8" or therabouts) on moorea ?, particularly around the opunohu / cook's bay area, and if they are in good condition ? Cheers

moorea is sweet cont..... - forgot to say the paddle outs at the hotel can take it out of you as there is a strong current. watch someone else do it first if you can to see what they do. also take boards with you cause there is no where to get them over there and also if you can take some old boards as they are extremely expensive over there according to the locals so old boards might not be worth much to you but you might find a good price for them over there.
morrea is sweet - i recently went to moorea and stayed at the beach comber hotel. this hotel was sweet!!!! there is a right and a left hander straight out the front of the hotel which are pretty fun waves with the right conditions. the waves got up to about 6 foot while i was there but where definately better while in the 4 foot range. The waves on the south side of the island like hapitti definately hold more size. its best to go with a few mates so that you can share the costs of transport if you intend to go surf some of the other brakes on the island. The hotel is excelent even if a bit expensive. The dolphin quest place in the hotel is also excelent.

Board Rental and Cheap Accomodation on Moorea NEEDED. - I'm interested to know what board rental is like on Moorea. I would like to rent one for a week or so while I am there, but want to make sure the boards are in decent shape. ANY ADVICE?Does any one have an idea of how expensive the boats are to rent to go surfing in northern moorea? Also, can anyone recommend a nice, not too expensive place to stay for my wife and I. I would love to have a bungalow, but know they are expensive.
