surf lefts even when not at resort
Resort guests of Namotu Is get exclusive surf rights to the break. Saturdays the guest change over. You'll need a fijian with a bit of pull to get in touch with them and see if they can hook you up for a saturday session... when you surfed wilkes all week, it was good to get onto the lefts.

Namotu
Let me say up front that I am an over 40 longboarder. I am getting ready to go back to Naomtu for the third time. I love this place. The surf is like anywhere else: it has good days and bad days. I've ridden Namotu lefts up to about 10' and it was incredible, not as radical as Tavarua, which I wish I could surf, but it's just a little much for me now. Swimming Pools is the right break and it is usually about 2/3 the size of the Lefts on any given day, but it's a faster and more intense wave, and a bit shallower. The only surfers out are the guests on the island. It is awesome.

Rail to Rail
anyone seen rail to rail? In that movie, Namotu was an island, and the break was left and right.

namotu lefts is a sweet wave, worth more than three stars for sure. it would have to be the fourth-best wave in fiji after Cloudbreak, Restaurants and Frigates. definitely worth four stars. if it wasn't such a close distance to tavarua, if it was somewhere else in fiji, people would flock there.
