go to rockingham and head south untill you get to safety bay.on the corner of the point there is a cafe and a carpark.leave your car here and there is a sandbar that you walk across to pengiun island,once there take the path over to the back of the island and the break is right in front.
leave your car on the mainland and the walk isnt too bad across the sand bar.the takeoff peak is small and you tend to go behind the peak so crowding can get bad. Needs high tide on all swells.consistant when everywhere else is flat. Cant hold more than a 2m swell. Biggest it can get is chest maybe shoulder high on a super high tide. Very fickle.

atmosphere is pretty quiet but the sea gulls are a nuicance.is good for a swim or a snorkel when there is no swell and there is a lot of fish because the whole island is a nature and marine reserve

i think that this spot is alright if you are bored of riding packed perth beaches.pity it cant hold more swell or this place would absolutly fire!!!!!if you come here dont come in to big groups because the A frame peak means you bachdoor both ways so it is limited to one good ride per wave.nice small wave reefy

been surfing here for last 2 years, its a bodyboarders wave, needs mid tide to work better, but can be done on any surf...its a bodyabording wave and can be very locallised..a year or so ago you could go and it would be max 5 guys out now on a average day ur lookign at atleast 15..and with these crowds its now unsafe to leave bags in the dunes, which sounds stupid but it used to be safe and not only that cars get broken into as well now..so instead of listing breaks liek this why not leave it as is..so people who enjoy an uncrowded surf can still get one..so if your not local dont bother..the actual wave changes dramtically form summer to winter, so learn then surf dont expect to learn here..the reef isnt sharp but u still no when u hit it..so leave the break surf in your own area..and stop addign breaks! its the reason everything is so crwded!

If you are travelling from perth to surf here dont expect to get a wave. i went for a surf the other day and there was about 8 guys from north of the river. They all got pissed off coz they werent getting any waves. It seems that over the last couple of years it has got more and more crowded to the point where there are now upwards of 30 people sitting on a 1 metre take off zone. If your not local then dont come. There are a group of about 10 or so guys that surf here every time its on and if we have never seen you before dont expect to get a wave. stay in perth and surf booger box coz we are sick of you perthies coming down and hassling

hey guyz id just like to sayz that im a local here and thiz place iz such a rush!!:) i espezially like it when it barrelz and i get into the green room. I surfed it 6 feetz once and saw 3 great whitez but i just keped surfing coz the barrelz were so kootaz. P.s the localz will smash any one so watch out! pcz guyz!!
